Mason Jar Wedding Madness!

Mason Jar Wedding Madness!

When it comes to mason jars, not everyone is as savvy as the jam making-pickling-overnight oats-mavens of the world. But when it comes to weddings and mason jars, we’ve got you covered. Many brides ask us about sizes when it comes to making their wedding vision come true. So we created a quick and dirty guide to knowing your mason jar sizes. If you’re considering mason jar mugs, we recommend the 16 oz size as drinks stay filled longer and thus, shorter lines at the bar.  We’ve also used the 8 oz jars for refreshments pre-ceremony, as most people just need a little something to quench their thirst and will often only be using that glass for only 10-15 minutes before they sit down. If you’re doing something extra special like a large arrangement or using a jar to collect “advice for the newlyweds” or similar guestbook notes, mason jars come in half gallon (64 oz) and gallon (128 oz) sizes as well. Don’t forget to personalize your mason jars with spray paint, glue, glitter, and anything else you can think of! {Find the how-to’s here: “5 Ways to Paint Mason...
Spring Blooms, Love Blossoms

Spring Blooms, Love Blossoms

A beautiful day in May brought Hilary and Ryan to Crossed Keys Inn for a celebration of love and happiness. The freshly bloomed lilacs and lime green grass were a prefect backdrop to this classic, elegant wedding. Not only was the bride’s look STUNNING (I mean look at that hair, earrings, dress… the list goes on), but the pink dogwoods, white and blue centerpieces, and billowing white fabric of the tent made this wedding one of the most romantic ones we have ever seen. Thank you to Kelly Kollar for these gorgeous images! Click here to see more of this beautiful wedding. Floral & Decor by Event Designs by...

2015 Wedding Trends We Love!

As we prepare for our 2015 wedding season, our brides are sharing lots of great ideas they want us to bring to life. To help you get started, here are some of the trends we’re seeing early on. Don’t forget to visit our Pinterest page for more inspiration and pin some of the wonderful images below…. Unstructured, Wild, + Overgrown The loose look is perfect for capturing that coveted rustic style while still imparting the elegance of a traditional wedding. An unstructured design looks like a casual hand-made, vintage wedding but the careful choices of flowers and vessel provide the chic, flawless look you want. Pops of dramatic colors like burgundy, magenta, orange or yellow only add to that wild look, but soft beige and blush work just as nicely. Either way, wild greens are the key to this look. Hang It Like You Mean It Whimsical weddings started popping up heavily in 2014 and we are seeing a lot of brides wanting a cozy, warm environment for their rustic wedding. Hanging natural elements is my favorite way to do this. In a big beautiful tent, hung flowers and greens can make the large space seem intimate and playful. It also helps to bring in the surrounding outdoor environment, continuing the scene right until the last dance. This is a great look for the bride who leans toward the side of hipster or boho-chic, another popular trend this year. Framing the Nuptials Arbors are all the rage for ceremonies right now, and not just any arbors. Brides want to feel enveloped by lush and large blooms when the end their walk down the aisle. A Slice of Tuscan Countryside: Brielle & Brian

A Slice of Tuscan Countryside: Brielle & Brian

On a picture perfect August day, we were honored to work with an incredible couple that together, with the help of Event Designs by Katherine, worked to capture the essence of their cultural background and transformed Crossed Keys into a slice of gorgeous Italian Countryside. Brielle was one of those amazing brides that knew exactly what she wanted and did an amazing job working with her vendors to make every detail come to life. From the olive green, burnt orange and terra cotta color palette that was further enhanced with gold accents to the escort cards on Italian postcards with insights into their family history; breathtaking tablescapes adorned with garland and wooden boxes overflowing with a unique mix of flowers, colors, and olive branches to homemade rosemary sea salt favors handmade by Brielle herself there wasn’t a thing that was not well thought out and meticulously planned with care. Brielle & Brian did an amazing job creating their picture perfect day, bringing in their families’ roots and personal style, and boy, did they have a party! From start to finish, no detail was missed and it really created a magical day for an amazing couple! Wait until you see the gorgeous pictures our very own Jessica captured of the day! Other than being incredibly good looking, we know you’ll appreciate all the details just as much as we do! Brielle & Brian, we wish you all the best! Thank you so much for your allowing us to be witness to your creativity and vision! We loved working with you!! We definitely have no lack of fun at Crossed Keys!! Yet...
