2013 Wedding Trend Colors

Every year, Pantone reveals it’s color of the year prediction. Last year the choice was Tangerine Tango, a reddish-orange shade. This year, Pantone has chosen Emerald. Unfortunately, I’m going to have to disagree with you Pantone! The color of the year for me is navy. Not only do I have several brides who has chosen navy bridesmaids dress and decor details, but I love this color for all things wedding. It works for beach weddings, country weddings, and everything in between. Navy is dramatic and elegant and makes even a simple affair feel upscale without being stuffy. {Navy works with most greens such as emerald as well!} My absolute favorite thing about navy is how you can subtly use it in floral work with much lighter colors such as ivory or peach, or with a mixture of light and dark like the combinations below.   Which leads me to my next point: burgundy. This color in the floral world is rich and deep while still having the bright beauty of a jewel tone. In my opinion, burgundy is the new blush. If you think these dark colors are only for fall and winter weddings, think again. By adding just touches of these dark colors to springy, light flowers, you create a romantic look or a more wildflower feel. We even saw this trend begin late last year and incorporated it into an October bouquet: So keep these dark colors in the back of your mind when planning your floral and decor, from navy place cards to navy paper lanterns, this color can easily be incorporated into your special day...

Rustic September Wedding: Renee & Doug

Just passing through to share a few shots of Renee & Doug’s vibrant purple wedding this fall. I love the decor and style of the wedding. The royal purple wasn’t overkill but just enough when mixed with the rustic details. I mean seriously – look at that bridesmaid’s bouquet! I just about died when those gorgeous purple hydrangeas arrived! Another one of my favorite details was the bride’s headband. It was unique and very pretty touch when combined with the veil. We love this  oh so sweet couple and were so thrilled to work with them on their special day. Congratulations Renee & Doug!   To see more pictures from this wedding visit our Facebook page.
